loretta williams - I was and extra in this movie when they filmed in Detroit,Michigan off of Jefferson and they never paid me....And that was a while ago...Horrible just Horrible, I gave them a full days work about 12 hours. Had I known this company was unprofessional I would have never wasted my time working with them. I could have been doing a fashion show make some real money. ~loretta W. Lpwilliams198623@yahoo.com

Matthew Jocelyn Named Artistic and General Director of Canadian Stage Company 2009/02/18
Posted: 9/5/2010
michael roloff - Regarding Mr. Joycelin learning German in three months and translating Fernando Krapp and even making his own version I wanted you to beware of the following: "Dear All: I wanted to make you aware of the following: the Canadian Stage is about to premiere my translation of Tankred Dorst's FERNANDO KRAPP WROTE ME THIS LETTER, slightly adapted to Canadian/British usage under the name of its new director, Matthew Joycelin who is bereft of German. http://www.canadianstage.com/admin/sources/editor... Below - reading from bottom to top - you have the entire sequence of correspondence between myself and Ms. Mytnowych and Mr. Wisener of the Canadian Stage and the agent for the original German, which itself is based on Miguel de Unamuno's NOTHING LESS THAN A MAN, a work I have known and admired since the 60. Note that in the middle of December of last year with great urgency Ms. Mytonowich asking me for a copy of the play, that exists in Carl Weber's anthology GERMAN DRAMA CONTEMPORARY [Johns Hopkins University Press] and which premiered here in Seattle in the mid 90s, first as a reading at Arne Zaslove's [a director of Dorst plays in New York] Bathhouse Theater, then shortly thereafter at the AHA theater under the direction of a Czech director who may still be teaching at Green River College. Since time appears of the essence, Ms. Mytonowich however locates a copy of the play in Toronto and I do not need to e-mail the translation as paginated PDF. I then hear nothing further until March of this year when the Canadian Stage announced FERNANDO [for short] for September of this year, Canadian Stage (CanStage) announces a new season – 2010-2011 – and ... By Sam Mooney Canadian premiere – Written by Tankred Dorst, one of the masters of contemporary German theatre, Fernando Krapp Wrote Me This Letter will be adapted into English and directed by Artistic & General Director Matthew Jocelyn, ... Mooney on Theatre - http://www.mooneyontheatre.com/ as Mr. Joycelin's premiere play as the new director, who knows the play from France, where it has been a huge success for years, on the order of, say, Duerrenmatt's THE VISIT, the kind of play that will become a war horse, also for actors such as Lunt/Fontaine who are probably still doing THE VISIT in theatrical hell. In other words, in a mere three months Mr. Joycelin has learned German well enough to translate a text that however does not pose inordinate difficulties by compare to many another, the Canadian Stage has sent it to Suhrkamp has the translation approved by Suhrkamp, which it of course is since it is much like my translation that they approved in the mid-90s, but they do not compare to notice how very similar they are except for above note, is warned by Suhrkamp not to use my translation but uses the slightly incorrect title that I used FERNDANDO KRAPP WROTE ME THIS LETTER for the German FERNANDO KRAPP HAT MIR DIESEN BRIEF GESCHRIEBEN instead of what would in fact be more appropriate Canadian/ British usage: FERNANDO KRAPP HAS WRITTEN ME THIS LETTER - I went with the tighter version of the title for reason of my first language having been what is called Platt Deutsch [German low land now dialect, pretty much the same as Dutch] that tends not to use the plus perfect. Someone whose name I will not cite for reason of protecting their job alerts me to what has transpired. I want to alert the Canadian Stage that if they proceed they will have an injunction for their production on opening night! The beginning of Mr. Joycelin's tenure will also be its end. Since face and pride are now in play, I have no objection to a note saying that my translation has been modified by the Canadian Stage to make it more amenable to a Canadian English speaking audience. The number of instances where others have stolen my work and put their name on it, for reasons of vanity, weak ego, or financial gain or greed, and in one instance on the part of original author, would take your breath away; there is one such even here in Seattle, bright fellow too; Carl Weber, too, could cite some amazing instances, such as that of the executive of the Vivian Beaumont putting her name on his translation of a Botho Straus translation. What we read about in the papers as occurring among the monsters of neo-liberalism occurs also in the underbrush of the peanuts world of poets and translators. Take a look at the resume of my home page: I was in publishing in New York for 25 years, a member of the PEN executive committee, but always preferred the background, however I am finally going into Michael Kohlhaas mode in this world of thieves.
