Capital Fringe Festival Hosts FICTITIOUS 7/24 & 7/25 And DIAMOND DEAD CONT'D 7/22 & 7/25

Two productions from the Landless Theatre Co., FICTITIOUS and DIAMOND DEAD (CONTINUED...), are now at the 2009 Capital Fringe Festival.

FICTITIOUS is playing at The Warehouse Theater at 1021 7th Street NW on Friday, July 24 at 8:00pm and Saturday, July 25 at 10:30pm.

Where do your loyalties lie? Hugh Diffindoffer a younger immigrant from the small country of "Nonexziistia" makes his way to and then through America.Filled with unfettered determination, Hugh rises to the top of the Body Building arena. This achievement is used by Hugh to catapult himself into becoming an International "Box Office Film Phenomenon." The fun really begins when Hugh marries into the most well known political family in modern history. Here again, Hugh's relentless drive and the bizarre turn of events propels Hugh to be seated behind the Highest office in the land, The President of the United States. Soon after taking office ,Hugh's loyalties to family and country are brought into play when Nonexzistia, now headed by Hugh's elder brother, Gunnar Diffindoffer, challenges the United States with a nuclear threat. This satirical musical comedy has an explosive ending with a sure to please double twist.

DIAMOND DEAD (CONTINUED...) is playing at the Baldacchino Gypsy Ten Bar at Fort Fringer at 607 New York Ave, NW on Wednesday, July 22 at 6:00pm and Saturday, July 25 at 7:30pm. Saturday will sell out, so come see the show on Wednesday for your mid-week zombie fix!

A new Maverick rises to do battle with the forces of evil in the continued adventures of the zombie rock band Diamond Dead. Winner of the 08' Best Musical Pick of the Fringe, with music by Emmy winner Richard Hartley.

Capital Fringe strives to provide outlets and opportunities for artists to self-produce in a nurturing and supportive environment while exposing their work to patrons and the local, national and international media that they would never be able to garner on their own. Capital Fringe is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in the summer of 2005 with the purpose of infusing energy into performing arts in the Washington DC region.

As part of the Fringe movement that began in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1947 and continues today, Capital Fringe joins a host of counterparts around the world. To, date we have presented three major festivals over a thousand participating artists producing their work to an audience representing over 10,000 households. While the Festival is an annual event, Capital Fringe continues to expand its mission throughout the year by operating the Fringe Training Factory where the performing arts community can lead and participate in workshops, panel discussions and round tables. A new partnership with Sasha Bruce Youth Work has expanded the Fringe Training Factory to include at-risk youth programs with the intention of monitoring and cultivating young artists, voices and leaders that will join and shape the DC performing arts community.
