Christine Pedi, Michael West and More Extend in NEWSICAL Through 12/21

Christine Pedi, Michael West, Christina Bianco and Tommy Walker – the four principal cast members in NEWSical the Musical: End of the World Edition – have extended their contracts in the show through December 21, 2012 at which point the world will definitely end. A new block of tickets is now on sale at Telecharge.com.

The announcement was made today by Tom D'Angora, producer of NEWSical the Musical: End of the World Edition.

"I'm giddy with the thought of riding out the 2012 election, the year in pop culture and the end of the world with our ridiculously talented cast," said D'Angora. "We could not be more thrilled that they have decided to star in NEWSical through the remainder of humanity."

From John Travolta's libido and Patricia Krentcil's mega-tan to the 2012 Presidential Election, the Mayan Calendar and the national fight for marriage equality, all the biggest stories of the year in pop culture and politics are given composer-lyricist Rick Crom's signature skewering in a hilarious 90-minute revue the Associated Press calls "The Daily Show set to music!"

NEWSical is the ever-evolving, completely unsanitized musical mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof. NEWSical was named Best New Musical of 2011 by the Off Broadway Alliance. Infectious melodies, razor-sharp lyrics, biting satire and more unpredictability than a Courtney Love tweet make NEWSical a laugh-filled, high octane musical revue of all the most talked-about headlines of the day. Satirical spoofs of the most up-to-the-minute newsmakers and celebrities are added on a regular basis making NEWSical a constantly-changing rollercoaster of ridicule.

Rick Crom has received three Drama Desk nominations for his work on NEWSical. He has appeared on Broadway in Urinetown, Footloose and The Goodbye Girl and on FX's critically-acclaimed series Louie starring comedian Louis C.K. NEWSical is directed by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy). Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), Josh Starr (lighting designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).
