GOLF: THE MUSICAL's Christopher Sutton To Appear On Curtain Call 12/1

GOLF_THE_MUSICALs_Christopher_Sutton_To_Appear_On_Curtain_Call_20010101

Christopher Sutton, currently appearing Off-Broadway in the international smash hit, GOLF: The Musical, will be this week's special guest on WGHT Radio's Curtain Call Wednesday, December 1st at 9:30 AM.

Morning host Teisha Bader interviews stars of Broadway, Off-Broadway and the music scene every Wednesday morning on WGHT Radio (1500AM), North Jersey's oldies station. Previous guests on Curtain Call include Lea Michele, Kristin Chenoweth, Valerie Harper, Keith Carradine, and Tyne Daly. The interviews can also be heard live at www.ghtradio.com.

Christopher Sutton most recently appeared in the original cast of the new rock musical Bloodties at NYMF. He created the title role in the world premiere of The Flight of the Lawnchair Man at Goodspeed Opera House and NYMF (Outstanding Actor Award). Other New York credits include I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change; The It Girl and the original cast of GOLF: The Musical. He played the role of Prince Herbert/Not Dead Fred in the 1st national tour of Monty Python's Spamalot for over 1,200 performances under the direction of Mike Nichols. Christopher received the Barrymore Award for Outstanding Performance by a Leading Actor for his portrayal of the title role in Buddy:The Buddy Holly Story.

GOLF: The Musical, which has played to international acclaim since its Off-Broadway premiere in 2003, began preview performances on November 20th at the Midtown Theatre, 163 West 46th Street (just east of Broadway). Opening night is set for next Monday, December 6th at 8 PM. Book, music and lyrics for GOLF: The Musical are by Michael Roberts, based on a concept by producer Eric Krebs.

Called a "delightfully silly surprise" and "a hilarious revue that you will be savoring long afterward" by The New York Times, GOLF: The Musical returns to New York City after having played throughout the United States and in 50 countries around the world, including a run in Saint Andrews, Scotland, the home of the game of golf, during the 2005 British Open. The show, dubbed a "amiable, madcap revue" by The New Yorker, prompted reviewer David Richardson of WOR Radio to rave "whether or not you play golf, you are going to love this show" and "probably the best entertainment around."

While as a sport, golf may be exasperating for some and exciting for others, in the world of GOLF: The Musical, "what you don't know about golf won't hurt your enjoyment of the revue, and what you do know will only enhance it" (TheaterMania). With a hugely talented quartet of actors, GOLF: The Musical celebrates the fun, frustration and elation of this popular sport in a manner that makes it "funny and fun for the whole foursome" according to Golf Magazine.

Under the direction of Christopher Scott, the cast of GOLF: The Musical features Tom Gamblin, Lyn Philistine, Brian Runbeck, and Christopher Sutton. Musical direction is by Ken Lundie.

Performances are Saturdays at 2 PM and Sundays at 3 & 7 PM. There will be an added performance Monday, December 6th at 8 PM (Opening Night). Tickets are $45 and include one drink at the bar, which opens 30 minutes prior to showtime.

To purchase tickets or learn more about the show, visit www.golfthemusical.com or call OvationTix at 212-352-3101 or toll free at 866-811-4111; group tickets (15 or more) are available at 212-354-4722.
