Casting has been announced for York Theatre Company's upcoming performance of the musical revue, THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. The cast will include Broadway stars Ann Harada and Josh Grisetti, as well as Bridget Beirne, Kerri Jill Garbis, and Thom Christopher Warren. The show will hold a limited Off-Broadway engagement, holding 5 performances from December 18th to December 20th.
The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) announces the return of its hilarious and heartwarming holiday hit 2006 revue, That Time of the Year. This extremely limited engagement will be presented in a style similar to the York's Musicals in Mufti series (in which musical theatre gems are staged by performers with "book-in-hand" and minimal props and costumes).
Just in time for Hanukkah, Christmas and the release of the Original Cast Recording, the show will be playing for One Weekend Only. The two-disc CD (released by JAY records) is currently available for purchase at the York lobby during all performances and on iTunes. The CD will be released in stores on November 10th. Comprised of all-original holiday tunes, That Time of the Year has lyrics by Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman and music by eight different composers (Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf).
The original off-Broadway cast album of the critically acclaimed holiday musical, That Time of the Year is now available on iTunes. The 2-CD album will be released November 10, 2009 from JAY records.
Ann Harada originated the role of Christmas Eve in Avenue Q on Broadway, for which she received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Ensemble and the Broadway.com Audience Favorite Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She reprised her role in the original London company of Avenue Q at the Noel Coward Theatre. She recently appeared as Mme. Thenardier in the revival of Les Miserables.
After college, Grisetti began appearing in New York City and abroad in stage productions of Monty Python's Spamalot (Wynn Las Vegas), Follies, Grease! (Sacramento Music Circus), Where's Charley? (Goodspeed Musicals), Cosi Fan Tutte, The Merry Widow, The Music Man (Mill Mountain Theatre), Camelot (North Shore), and Lucky Guy (Norma Terris Theatre). Grisetti most notably starred in the York Theatre's 2008-2009 revival of Enter Laughing: The Musical (originally titled So Long, 174th Street). His performance garnered rave reviews and multiple award nominations in the 2008-2009 season. Grisetti also appeared in the American premier of Noel Coward's After the Ball at the Irish Repertory Theatre. Grisetti is featured on the cast recordings of both shows. Grisetti will make his Broadway debut in 2009-2010 season, starring as "Eugene Morris Jerome" in the Neil Simon revival of Broadway Bound, directed by David Cromer.
Performances for the show are as follows: Friday, December 18th at 8 PM, Saturday, December 19th at 2:30 and 8 PM, and Sunday, December 20th at 2:30 and 7:30 PM.
