Canada has spoken, and Danielle Wade has been given the coveted red Ruby Slippers and the role of Dorothy in Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber's production of The Wizard of Oz. Wade, 20, won the eight week long reality competition 'Over the Rainbow' Monday night after a nation-wide vote eliminated runners-up AJ Bridel and Stephanie LaRochelle. CHAPLIN, a new musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin played by Rob McClure, with music and lyrics by Christopher Curtis and book by three-time Tony Award-winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Christopher Curtis, opened on Broadway on Monday, September 10, 2012. Warren Carlyle (Finian's Rainbow; Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway) directs and choreographs the production. On March 8, 2013, one of Broadway's favorite leading men, Ryan Silverman, will appear with The New York Pops for Come Fly With Me: The Songs of Sammy Cahn. Mr. Silverman has previously appeared in The Phantom of the Opera (Raoul), Cry-Baby (Cry-Baby u/s), Music in the Air (Karl) at New York City Center's Encores!, and The Most Happy Fella (Al) at New York City Opera. Mr. Silverman replaces Seth MacFarlane, who is unavailable to perform due to a scheduling conflict.
