The Muscular Dystrophy Association today announced that plans for its 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon are almost complete, and the 21 1/2-hour live show is going to be spectacular. San Francisco Run of WICKED Will Close 9/5

The San Francisco production of the smash hit musical WICKED will play its final performance on Sunday, September 5, 2010, ending its record-breaking run at the Orpheum Theatre. John Barrowman will host WEST END BARES: STRIP BRITANNIA! on September 5, 2010, the Make a Difference Trust has announced. The show will feature male and female dancers from the West End "strutting their stuff" and will benefit TheatreMAD and the Make a Difference Trust. This show is the first West End Bares event and is based on the popular Broadway Bares series created by Jerry Mitchell. There will be two performances, one at 9:30pm and one at midnight. (more...)

COME FLY AWAY to Close September 5

The critically acclaimed Broadway musical COME FLY AWAY will conclude its Broadway run on Sunday, September 5 at the Marquis Theatre (1535 Broadway at 46th Street) after 26 previews and 187 regular performances. Conceived, choreographed, and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and featuring vocals by Frank Sinatra, COME FLY AWAY will launch a national tour in May, 2011 in Chicago. Paul Reubens Talks PEE-WEE HERMAN With New York Magazine

The Pee-Wee Herman Show played Hollywood's Roxy Theatre in 1981, was made into a hit movie in 1985, and ran as a Saturday morning kids' show from 1986-1991. And despite Paul Reubens' 1991 arrest for indecent exposure, Pee-Wee's reputation is as good as ever, with "The Pee-Wee Herman Show" set to open at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on October 26. TRUST Closes at 2nd Stage 9/5

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12.
