Molly Shannon to Join PROMISES, PROMISES for 11 Weeks Starting Oct. 12th

The producers of PROMISES, PROMISES are thrilled to announce that "Saturday Night Live" alumnus and "Superstar" Molly Shannon will make her Broadway debut in the smash hit musical comedy as Marge MacDougall for a limited 11 week run from Tuesday, October 12, 2010 through Sunday, December 26, 2010. This new production of PROMISES, PROMISES, directed and choreographed by Tony and Emmy Award winner Rob Ashford with Neil Simon's funny and touching book and Burt Bacharach and Hal David's hit-packed score, began previews at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) Saturday, March 27, 2010, and opened on Sunday, April 25, 2010.

Hollywood icon Liza Minnelli - whose brilliant career has earned her an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy and four Tony Awards - will sit down with Turner Classic Movies (TCM) host Robert Osborne for PRIVATE SCREENINGS: Liza Minnelli, an in-depth interview special slated to premiere Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). Rather than focusing on Minnelli herself, this special will take the unique approach of centering on the lives and careers of Minnelli's legendary parents, Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli. In conjunction with the premiere, TCM will pack two nights (Dec. 11-12) with films starring Garland, directed by Vincente Minnelli and/or starring Liza Minnelli.

It was another version of "Circle of Life" on-stage at Broadway's THE LION KING Friday night, September 3, when The Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky and fiancé Roberto Martinez were joined by both of their families to take in the show. Following the performance, they joined cast member Dashaun Young (Simba) back-stage where he presented them with a gift from the cast. Whoopi Goldberg Rejoins West End's SISTER ACT in Oct.

Whoopi Goldberg will rejoin the cast of the hit musical comedy SISTER ACT in October to complete her run as Mother Superior. She will perform the role on the evening of Friday 22 October, at two shows on Saturday 23 October and at two shows on Monday 25 October. Whoopi's previous run, her West End debut, was a huge critical success and saw fans camping overnight at the box office and daily queues around the block at the London Palladium for tickets. During Whoopi's run Sister Act also broke the record for the highest weekly gross of any musical ever at the Palladium. She was unable to complete that run, which was to end on August 31, when she had to return to the USA due to a family emergency. (more...)
