Jay Sefton's 'The Most Mediocre Story Never Told!' Set For 2009 NY Fringe Fest 8/14 -30

Executive producer David Rambo and producer Christopher Massimine will present Jay Sefton's award-winning play, The Most Mediocre Story Never Told!, as part of the 13th annual New York International Fringe Festival August 14-30.

Originally presented at The Lounge Theatre in Los Angeles in September of 2008, The Most Mediocre Story Never Told! was welcomed to both critical and audience acclaim extending the show's run twice. LA Weekly awarded the show with "The Best Solo Performance of 2008" calling it a "A charm-filled meta-literary excursion, under Debra Deliso's nimble direction, something like a magic-carpet ride." LA Weekly also says "Jay Sefton takes every aspect of the autobiographical one-man show and dismantles it before our eyes." Debra Deliso continues as director for the east coast premiere.

In this deconstruction of the traditional one-person show, playwright and performer Jay Sefton dismantles his story exploring the nature of memory, its unreliability, and the obstacles it presents toward living in the present. His journey to move beyond his past finds him in Philadelphia ‘on a cross in a diaper', in Lexington, Kentucky for the 1985 Men's NCAA final four, in a bar at the Jersey Shore and locking horns with a Stones-loving foul mouth Philadelphian hell bent on taking control.

Executive Producer David Rambo will also be represented this fall when his show The Lady With All The Answers opens at the Cherry Lane Theatre starring Judith Ivey as legendary advice columnist Ann Landers.

The five performances will held at the newly renovated Actors' Playhouse (100 7th Ave between Grove and Bleecker) on:

Saturday 8/15 @ 2:15-3:15
Sunday 8/16 @ 10:00-11:00
Friday 8/21 @ 7:00-8:00
Sunday 8/23 @ 7:15-8:15
Wednesday 8/26 @ 6:15-7:15

Tickets will be $15 and may be purchased starting July 24th by visiting www.FringeNYC.org or by calling 866.468.7619 between 9am-7pm. The Most Mediocre Story Never Told! is part of The New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC - A production of The Present Company.

Jay Sefton (Playwright and Performer) is the recipient of the LA WEEKLY award for best solo performance 2008 for The Most Mediocre Story Never Told. He is originally from Philadelphia, lived in Austin, Texas for 2 years and Los Angeles for the last 10. He has worked in theatre, film and television.

Debra De Liso (Director) has been a theatre artist for over twenty-five years working as a film and stage actor, choreographer/dancer, director, playwright, and teacher. She currently enjoys teaching acting and playwriting at the USC School of Theatre, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, CSULA, directing summer musicals at Rio Hondo College, and teaching Saturday morning acting classes in Pasadena to the public. Developing her Master's Thesis The Physicalization of A Role, and continued study in Hatha Yoga has guided her direction of over 250 original one-person shows. Debra delights in the creative work of guiding the development of passionate, talented, playwrights like Jay, to see their vision come to life.

David Rambo (Executive Producer) is the author of the plays GOD'S MAN IN TEXAS, THE ICE-BREAKER, THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS, THE Spin Cycle, BABBITT and an all-new book for the classic Lerner and Loewe musical PAINT YOUR WAGON. His plays have been widely produced throughout the country at theatres including Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Geffen Playhouse, The Old Globe, the Huntington Theatre Company, Denver Center Theatre, ALLIANCE THEATRE, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Northlight Theatre, the Magic Theatre and the Florida Stage. He has adapted several classic screenplays for live performance, including ALL ABOUT EVE, SUNSET BOULEVARD, CASABLANCA and ADAM'S RIB. For television, he is a writer and supervising producer of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation." This fall, THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS opens at the Cherry Lane Theatre starring Judith Ivey as legendary advice columnist Ann Landers.

Massimine/Roytman/Presentations (Producer) is a NYC based commercial producing entity established in 2009 by producers Christopher Massimine and Elvin Roytman. Combined producing experience spans from regional theatrics through Off Broadway theatrics with Broadway-bound projects in development."
