MR. SENSITIVITY Makes Its Premiere During NY International Fringe Fest 8/16-30

JOLLITY FARM PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce the World Premiere of "MR. SENSITIVITY," a new comedy by BYRON NILSSON about a hapless man who procures a special birthday gift for his wife: an hour of ecstasy with a famous adult film star. Directed by DAVID BAECKER, the production plays at the SOHO PLAYHOUSE, 15 Vandam St., as part of the NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL. The performance dates and times are:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th at 8:30 PM

SATURDAY, AUGUST 22nd at 7:30 PM

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26th at 4:30 PM

THURSDAY, AUGUST 27th at 2:15 PM

SUNDAY, AUGUST 30th at 12:00 PM

Tickets are $15 and are available by calling (866) 468-7619 or via the web at www.FringeNYC.org. For more information on the production, please log onto the show's official website at www.Mr-Sensitivity.com.

"Noises Off" meets "Deep Throat" in "MR. SENSITIVITY," an hilarious farce that centers around Grady, a bookish man who buys his wife what he feels is truly the ultimate surprise birthday present: a romp with famed adult film actor Barry Woodman. Although wife Tiffany has never expressed the slightest interest in sleeping with another man, Grady suspects that she's secretly wanted to. Woodman arrives ready for action, but the hapless husband begins to get cold feet when he realizes how conflicted he is about giving his wife to another man. Grady is relieved when Tiffany is initially shocked and disgusted by the insensitive nature of Grady's gift (and of Woodman himself)...but before long, she becomes aroused by the idea.

Featured in the cast: JEFFERSON SLINKARD, whose credits include Bill C. Davis' new play "My Expatriate" with Tandy Cronyn, the Las Vegas cast of Broadway's "Mamma Mia" and Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" with Lea Salonga; DAVID SEDGWICK, who's appeared in "Hamlet" and "Arms & The Man" at the Pearl Theatre; KATE HETTESHEIMER, whose credits include "Candide" at the New York City Opera, "A Murder Is Announced" at Queens Theatre in the Park; and CAROLINE LAWTON, a recent transplant from Boston who played over 2000 performances of Boston's long-running comedy "Shear Madness" and appeared in roles at the Lyric Stage, the Publick Theatre and Commonwealth Shakespeare.

Playwright BYRON NILSSON's credits include "Drivers" (Ensemble Studio Theatre), the musical "Pirate Pip" (commissioned by the Lake George Opera Company), and "iFind You @ Last," premiered at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz. With songwriting partner Tom Savoy, Byron is
currently writing a full-length holiday musical based on Booth Tarkington's "Beasley's Christmas Party." As an actor, he has worked for over a decade with the Troy-based New York State Theatre Institute, creating roles in their productions of "Miracle on 34th Street" and "A Wonderful Life," and has appeared with Syracuse Opera in "The Merry Widow" and "Sunday in the Park with Sondheim." Byron also writes for Albany-area publications about music, food, theater and books, and has written extensively about technology for national magazines.

Director DAVID BAECKER's credits include "The Visit," "Anton in Show Business," "Boston Marriage," "Stop/Kiss," "Nickel and Dimed," and "Proof." As an actor, he has worked with The New York State Theatre Institute, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Seattle Fringe Festival, Perry-Mansfield New Noises and the Asolo Theatre Festival. David has an M.F.A. from Florida State University and B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, and is an Assistant Professor of Theatre at Russell Sage College for Women.
