Marc Wolf Performs ANOTHER AMERICAN: Asking And Telling At DR2

Marc_Wolf_Performs_ANOTHER_AMERICAN_Asking_And_Telling_At_DR2_20010101

Producer Daryl Roth has announced that Obie, Helen Hayes and GLAAD award-winner Marc Wolf will perform his solo show Another American: Asking and Telling at the DR2 Theatre (103 E. 15th Street, NYC). Performances begin Monday July 12, and run through August 30, 2010. A portion of the proceeds will support various charitable organizations including The Elton John AIDS Foundation (July 12), GHMC (July 19th) and Servicemembers Legal Defense Networks (August 16). Additional participating organizations to be announced shortly.

With original direction by Joe Mantello, Another American: Asking and Telling takes the audience on a national tour of sexual politics, the American military, sanctioned discrimination, and its human fallout. Distilled from over one hundred and fifty interviews with straight, gay and lesbian military personnel (from World War II veterans to anonymous servicemembers serving today), in addition to civil rights lawyers, federal judges, professors and politicians, Wolf portrays a community of characters struggling with the government's ban on gays and lesbians in the armed forces.

Tickets for Another American: Asking and Telling can be purchased at www.telecharge.com, by calling 212-239-6200 or at the box office of the Daryl Roth Theatre (101 E 15th Street, NYC). For group sales call 646-747-7400. For more information on Another American: Asking and Telling and to follow the cast and creative team, join the Facebook group at www.facebook.com/anotheramerican.

Marc Wolf won an Obie and was nominated for the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for his Off-Broadway performance of Another American: Asking and Telling at The New Group, directed by Joe Mantello. He has also performed Another American at the McCarter Theatre, Mark Taper Forum (Garland Award), Seattle Repertory Theatre, Trinity Repertory Company, The Studio Theatre Washington D.C. (Helen Hayes Award, GLAAD Award), Baltimore Center Stage, About Face Theatre (Jeff Nomination), New Conservatory Theatre (Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award) and New York Stage and Film, among others. Wolf received a National Endowment for the Arts grant to develop his other solo show The Road Home: Re-Membering America, which he performed at McCarter Theatre, Huntington Stage Company and GeVa Theatre. Another American: Asking and Telling is published in Political Stages: Plays that Shaped a Century (Applause Books).
