The New Victory Theater announced the New Vic Sneak Peaks and Adventures, a program organized in partnership with Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle that features activity-driven events with the visiting artists of New Victory performances, free and open to the public.
Taking place in midtown's Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (located at 1972 Broadway at 66th St. next to Lincoln Center), New Vic Sneak Peaks and Adventures gives audiences the exciting opportunity to learn more about upcoming theater, puppetry, circus and dance performances at The New Victory Theater via live performances and discussions with actors, directors and other key people from on stage or behind-the-scenes.
The series, which runs through June, has the following events confirmed:
New Vic Sneak Peak: CRANKED
Monday, January 12 at 7pm: Actor Kyle Cameron gives a snapshot of his performance from the award-winning hip-hop play Cranked - a one-man drama about crystal meth addiction; playwright Michael P. Northey discusses what inspired him to write a play about this growing and frightening epidemic. Cranked will run at The Duke on 42nd Street from January 9 - 25.
New Vic Storytelling Adventure
Tuesday, January 20 at 4pm: an interactive and high-energy storytelling experience inspired by Jason and the Argonauts, performing at The New Victory Theater from January 23 - February 1.
New Vic Performance Adventure
Thursday, January 29 at 4pm: an amazing acrobatic how-to inspired by the Moroccan acrobats in TAOUB, performing at The New Victory Theater from February 6 - February 22.
New Vic Shakespeare Adventure
Thursday, February 19 at 4pm: Bard-savvy artists help participants get psyched about Shakespeare in preparation for the Guthrie Theater/The Acting Company's Henry V, performing at The New Victory Theater from February 27 - March 8.
New Vic Sneak Peak: Black Violin
Monday, March 16 at 7:30 pm as part of Barnes & Noble's Monday Jazz series:
Hear first-hand how phenomenal fiddlers Kev and Will B fuse elements of classical, jazz, blues, R&B and hip-hop. These classically-trained violinists have mastered a soulful synergy that enthralls lovers of both Bach and Beyonce. Black Violin performs at The New Victory Theater from March 13 - March 22.
