PSYCHO THERAPY Resumes Performances at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 4/8

By popular demand, Frank Strausser's new comedy PSYCHO THERAPY will resume performances Off-Broadway at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street) beginning April 8 and running through May 26, it has been announced by the show's producer, Barbara Ligeti and Wishing Well Productions.

Called, "a comic roadside attraction," by The New York Times – Frank Strausser's new comedy PSYCHO THERAPY, explores a new option in relationship counseling…couple's therapy for three.

With direction by Michael Bush, the cast of PSYCHO THERAPY will feature: Alexander Cendese (Broadway revival A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE, ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA dir. Tina Landau), Obie winner Jan Leslie Harding (THE GREEN BIRD, SINCERITY FOREVER), Laurence Lau ("All My Children," THE EXONERATED) and Gabrielle Miller (multi-award winning actress CTV's "Corner Gas," "Robson Arms").

Design team for PSYCHO THERAPY is Michael V. Moore (Set Designer), Amanda Bujak (Costume Designer), Amy Altadonna (Sound Designer), Jeff Croiter (Lighting Designer) and Allison Leyton-Brown (Composer).

Alexander Cendese's stage credits include the Drama Desk Award winning revival of A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and the Hartford Stage production of ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA. His television and film credits include: "GArden Party," "You Belong to Me," "Greetings From The Shore," "The Bedford Diaries," and "One Life to Live."

Obie Award winner Jan Leslie Harding was last seen on Broadway in Julie Taymore's THE GREEN BIRD. Her Off Broadway credits include SINCERITY FOREVER (Obie Award), A LIE OF THE MIND, DEFYING GRAVITY, ALBUM, KILLER JOE, etc. She has been featured in many Mac Wellman and Richard Foreman productions. Most notably in THE LAND OF FOG AND WHISTLES at the Whitney Museum of American Art, THE BIRTH OF A POET at the BAM Next Wave Festival and THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV with EnGarde Arts. Leslie is a member of the Ensemble Studio Theatre and a founding member of the Flea Theatre in Manhattan.

Laurence Lau's many credits include ARRIVALS (Bank Street Theatre), SPINE (Barrow Group), THE EXONERATED (Culture Project), THE GOAT…(Vienna English Theatre – European premiere), GOD OF CARNAGE (Virginia Stage Company), BECKY'S NEW CAR (Theatre Aspen), SCITUATE (Barrow Group), and the first national tour of AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY. He has appeared in many daytime dramas, including "All My Children" (Greg Nelson); "Another World" (Dr. Jamie Frame); "One Life to Live" (Sam Rappaport), and "As the World Turns" (Brian Wheatley).

Gabrielle Miller is one of Canada's most celebrated performers. The award-winning actor is widely recognized for her lead roles on two of Canada's hottest shows: the runaway hit CTV series "Corner Gas," the highest rated comedy program in Canadian television history, and the critically acclaimed dramedy "Robson Arms." Combined, Gabrielle has garnered 12 Gemini and Leo Award nominations. In 2005 and 2006 she won a Leo Award for her role as Lacey Burrows on "Corner Gas," and in 2007 took home a Gemini Award for best ensemble cast in a comedy. For her portrayal of Bobbi Briggs on "Robson Arms", Gabrielle won the 2007 Leo Award and 2009 Gemini Award for Best Dramatic Performance. Other credits include: "Elijah" and "Holiday in Handcuffs" as well as recurring roles on the television series "Breaking News" and "Pasadena," and guest-star appearances on "Frasier," "The X-Files," "DaVinci's Inquest," "The Outer Limits," "NCIS," "Cold Case," etc.

Frank Strausser is based in Los Angeles and is a writer of plays, screenplays and novels. Psycho Therapy has had New York workshops and developmental productions Off-Broadway and in London's West End. It is also being developed as a feature film. His first produced play, The Powder Room, starred Best Actress Academy Award nominee Sally Kirkland in a Los Angeles production. His second play, The Split, premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is slated to have an Off-Broadway production in 2012. His third play, Valentine Triage, has a production pending in 2013. He has adapted his novel Plastic as a motion picture. Strausser studied theatrical writing in the late Milton Katselas' master class at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Michael Bush is currently the artistic director of the Cabaret and Performance Conference at the Tony Award winning Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. He most recently directed the off-Broadway revival of CACTUS FLOWER, Leslie Uggam's UPTOWN DOWNTOWN (Pasadena Playhouse, LA Drama Critics Circle Award) and won the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival Award for Excellence in Direction for the world premiere musical HURRICANE produced in the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival. He is the former director of artistic production and associate artistic director for the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York City. He was associated with MTC for over 25 years and helped artistically guide more than 150 new plays and musicals, including the Tony® Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning PROOF, and DOUBT, and the Tony® Award winning LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!

Barbara Ligeti's credits include the Broadway productions of HURLYBURLY, Ma Rainey'S BLACK BOTTOM, and NIGHT MOTHER. Off-Broadway and regionally, her credits include: HURLYBURLY starring Sean Penn and Danny Aiello, GOOSE AND TOMTOM with Sean Penn and Madonna, HAVANA IS WAITING, SAINT LUCY'S EYES starring Ruby Dee, 60 MINUTES IN NEGROLAND, and HARRIET AND PHYLLIS starring Margo Jefferson, and Francesca Harper; With Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner post 9/11 rant RENO; REBEL WITHOUT A PAUSE, and most recently MADE IN HEAVEN at the Soho Playhouse. Ms. Ligeti managed and produced Eric Bogosian and Eduardo Machado, and was producer/board member of VETCO (Vietnam Veteran's Ensemble Theatre Company). She served for years on the NY State and City Film Television and Theatre Advisory Boards. Her film producing credits include: Joe Minion's "Motorama," Robert Downey's "Hugo Pool," Jack Palance in "Ebenezer," "Tiara Tango," "Forever Fabulous," "Dear America, Letters Home from Vietnam" and Angelica and Tony Torn's "Lucky Days." Barbara is currently based in LA where she is on the board of Daniel Henning and Noah Wyle's Blank Theatre COMPANY Hollywood's only regional theatre.

Performances of PSYCHO THERAPY resume on April 8 and run through May 26 on a performance schedule of Mondays at 7:00pm; Wednesdays through Fridays at 8:00pm; Saturdays at 3:00pm and 8:00pm and Sundays at 3:00pm and 7:00pm.
