Partial Comfort Productions Presents 8th Annual THE WELCOME MAT SERIES 1/10-2/8 At The Wild Project

Partial Comfort Productions presents THE WELCOME MAT SERIES, its 8th annual series of new play readings. Performances are Sundays at 7pm beginning January 10th at The Wild Project (195 E. 3rd Street b/w Aves A. & B. -- accessible from the F/V trains at 2nd Avenue). The series is free and open to the public. No reservations are required; seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more info visit www.partialcomfort.org.

THE WELCOME MAT SERIES is formal presentation of new work, written, directed, and performed by members of Partial Comfort Productions (and special guests). Originally presented at the company's annual summer retreat, the pieces are then further developed, staged and rehearsed, before being presented to the public for consideration for full production in a future Partial Comfort season.

Sunday, January 10:
Fluid Love by Anton Dudley. Directed by Victor Maog.
Locks can't keep out what's determined to get in. In this
dark-humored romance, a motley crew of drinkers discover their worst
demons don't come in bottles.
The cast includes Isabel Keating, Sarah Hayon, Greg Keller and Peter O'Connor.

Sunday, January 17:
The Seduction Community by Greg Keller. Directed by Kip Fagan.
A play about love, pick-up artists, and stable evolutionary strategies.
The cast includes Alexander Alioto, Jackie Chung, Brian Coats, Curran
Connor, Peter O'Connor, Alfredo Narciso, Jeffrey Nauman, Jenny
Seastone-Stern and Danielle Slavick.

Sunday, January 24:
God of Meat by Sam Hunter. Directed by Erica Gould.
A video of insurgents beheading Jack Lewis has just been released over
the Internet. Back home in Idaho, the only solution to his
fundamentalist Christian family's grief-and his brother's mounting
spiritual crisis-lies in the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage,
Missouri.
The cast includes Sarah Nina Hayon, Andrew Garman, George McDaniel,
and Peter O'Connor.

Sunday, January 31:
Mercy by Chad Beckim. Directed by John Gould Rubin.
A family finds its careful dynamic in disarray when a precocious
twelve year old is a asked to tutor her older classmate.
The cast includes Janna Emig, Sharon Freedman, Andrew Garman, Greg
Keller, McKenna Kerrigan, Vincent Madero, Jenny Seastone Stern, and
Cynthia Silver.

Sunday, February 8:
Total Power Exchange by Edith Freni. Directed by Victor Maog.
Total Power Exchange explores the issues of human trafficking and
slavery, both physical and emotional, through the stories of three
young women trying to find their way in the world.
The cast includes Jackie Chung, Jessica Frey, Andrew Garman, Greg
Keller, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Danielle Slavick.

Partial Comfort Productions is a collaborative ensemble devoted to the development and presentation of original new theater. The company was co-founded in 2002 by Chad Beckim and Molly Pearson. Past productions include a trio of acclaimed works by Beckim (nami, The Maine Play and...a matter of choice), Thomas Bradshaw's The Bereaved, Ross Maxwell's Open House (Best Ensemble Award winner at FringeNYC 2006); Craft and Nelson by Sam Marks; Kidstuff by Edith Freni, Booty Candy by Robert O'Hara; and Play by OHara, Chay Yew, Kia Corthron, Eddie Sanchez, Keith Adkins and Tracey Scott Wilson.
