Photo Coverage: NEWSICAL: The Musical Opens Off-Broadway

No one in the news is safe! The 2010 Drama Desk nominated revue, NEWSical the Musical, is back lampooning current events, headlines, newsmakers, celebrities, and politicians. With songs and material being updated on a regular basis, composer-lyricist Rick Crom's topical musical comedy is an ever-evolving mockery of all the news that is fit to spoof! Drama Desk nominee and Sirius Radio host Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway, Talk Radio) leads an ensemble that includes Christina Bianco (Drama Desk nominee Forbidden Broadway), Michael West (Forbidden Broadway, When Pigs Fly), John Walton West (Drosy Chaperone tour, Producers tour) Amy Griffin (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) and Tommy Walker (Evil Dead). The production will be directed by Mark Waldrop (When Pigs Fly, My Deah, Inventing Avi, Papermill Playhouse's Gypsy). Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), David Kally (costume designer), and Scott Delacruz (stage manager). The show is being produced by Tom D'Angora (Broadway Diva Christmas, Naked Boys Singing!, Divas I've Done) and Elyse Pasquale (Betty Rules).

NEWSical the Musical began previews on Monday, December 13th and opened last night, January 9th at The Kirk at Theatre Row.
