Allison Williams, star of HBO's smash hit "Girls," and Ann Harada (Avenue Q) both attended TRIASSIC PARQ The Musical at the SoHo Playhouse this past Tuesday, June 26th. TRIASSIC PARQ, 2010's Best Musical winner at FringeNYC, opened last night to rave reviews and the limited Off-Broadway engagement is set to run through August 5th. Check out the photo below!
Written by Marshall Pailet, Bryce Norbitz and Steve Wargo, TRIASSIC PARQ is directed by Mr. Pailet, with choreography by Kyle Mullins and musical direction by Zak Sandler. The cast of TRIASSIC PARQ features Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Hairspray, Lysistrata Jones), Brandon Espinoza (Les Miserables, Captains Courageous), Wade McCollum (Submissions Only), Claire Neumann (Boston Marriage), Lee Seymour (title role in Hamlet, Shakespeare's Globe), Shelley Thomas (Zanna, Don't!) and Alex Wyse (HBO's Bored to Death).
Raucous and hilarious, TRIASSIC PARQ The Musical vividly brings together music, sex and singing dinosaurs in ways hitherto unimagined. Chaos is unleashed upon the not-so-prehistoric world when one dinosaur in a clan of females spontaneously turns male. The mutation spawns a chain reaction of identity crises, forcing the dinosaurs to question the very facts of life they've held as truth. TRIASSIC PARQ is an unflinching musical meditation on science, faith and love. Like all great tales laden with import, it is narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Co-author/composer Marshall Pailet is currently developing a new musical for the stage and screen with DreamWorks Theatricals/Animation. Other credits include Super Claudio Bros. (Best Musical DC Fringe '10); Who's Your Baghdaddy, or How I Started the Iraq War (Woolly Mammoth, Best Musical DC Fringe '11); On a Glorious Day (Houston Stages); Where It's At (FringeNYC) and Loch Ness. Co-bookwriter/lyricist Bryce Norbitz is the Executive Producer of UglyRhino Productions. She has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Second City and The Public Theater. Co-bookwriter/lyricist Steve Wargo produced Keith Varney's I Got Fired: A Revenge Musical at NYMF and he was the Founding Artistic Director of Personal Space Theatrics, where he directed and produced 14 productions.
Director Marshall Pailet's credits include Super Claudio Bros., Who's Your Baghdaddy, Stuck (Clurman Theatre), The 49 Project (FringeNYC) and Bat Boy (Yale).
Set design for TRIASSIC PARQ The Musical is by Caite Hevner, with costume design by Dina Perez, lighting design by Jennifer Schriever and sound design by Carl Casella and Chris Cronin.
TRIASSIC PARQ The Musical runs 85 minutes with no intermission and is presented Off-Broadway by Amas Musical Theatre in association with Flying Squirrel Theatricals, RD Productions, Bulldog Theatrical, P2 Creations and The Weekly World News.
