Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere production of Adam
Bock's The Receptionist officially opened Tuesday, October 30 at New York City Center
– Stage I (131 West 55th Street). The After Party was held at the Beacon Restaurant.
Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Blackbird, Take Me Out), the cast features: Josh Charles ("Sports Night"), Robert Foxworth (Twelve Angry Men),
Jayne Houdyshell (Well), and Kendra Kassebaum (Wicked).
"At the start of a typical day in the Northeast Office, Beverly (Houdyshell) deals
effortlessly with ringing phones and her colleague's romantic troubles. But the appearance of a charming rep from the
Central Office disrupts the friendly routine.
And as the true nature of the company's business becomes apparent, The Receptionist raises disquieting,
provocative questions about the consequences of complicity with evil," explain
press notes.
Performance Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday at 8PM; Wednesday,
Saturday and Sunday at 2PM; Sunday at 7PM.
