Photo Flash: SECRETS OF THE TRADE Meets the Press

Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director), in association with Ted Snowdon, launches its 26th season the New York premiere of Secrets of the Trade by Jonathan Tolins. With direction by Matt Shakman, the five-member cast features Amy Aquino as Joanne Lipman, Bill Brochtrup as Bradley, John Glover as Martin Kerner, Mark Nelson as Peter Lipman and Noah Robbins as Andrew Lipman. Today, June 30, the company met the press. BroadwayWorld brings you photo coverage below.

Performances begin Tuesday, July 27, 2010 for a limited run through Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Opening night is set for Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

In show business, it's all about who you know. Or is it? Andy Lipman, a smart, ambitious kid from Long Island dreams of a career on Broadway and hopes that his idol, theater legend Martin Kerner, can give it to him. Will Kerner open Andy's door to success, or will their complicated relationship force him to question a life in the theater?

Secrets of the Trade received its world premiere in 2008 at the Black Dahlia Theatre in Los Angeles directed by Matt Shakman and featured Amy Aquino, Bill Brochtrup and John Glover and received the 2009 GLAAD Award for Best New Play and was named by The L.A. Times as one of the "10 Best '08." Variety declared, "Flawless production." While BackStage West stated, "Critic's Pick...Meticulously crafted, exceedingly clever...A major theatrical event." L.A. Weekly simply stated, "Go!"

The creative team includes Mark Worthington (Set), Alejo Vietti (Costumes), Mike Durst (Lights), and John Gromada (Sound). The Production Stage Manager is Sarah Caddell.

Secrets of the Trade will play the following performance schedule: Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m., Thursdays & Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m. on August 1, 8 & 15, and Wednesday matinees at 2:00 p.m. on August 18, 25 & September 1. Following the public performances on August 12 & 19, there are special "Artist/Audience Talkbacks" for the attendees of those performances.

Single tickets for Secrets of the Trade are priced at $45 for preview performances (July 27-Aug 8) and $60 for all remaining performances and may be purchased by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200, online at www.ticketcentral.com, or in person at the 59E59 Theaters Box Office. Group Tickets (10+) are $45.00 each, and are available by calling (212) 840-9705, ext. 219. Please visit the website at www.primarystages.org, or call (212) 840-9705 for more information.

The special Pay What You Can ticket offer (now in its third season at Primary Stages) will be available for the first two preview performances on July 27th & 28th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale two hours prior to curtain and are limited to two (2) tickets per person, cash only, no change given, must provide mailing address and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, only at the 59E59 Theater Box Office

For theater patrons 35 and under, Primary Stages offers specially priced $20 tickets (maximum two tickets per valid ID). Advance tickets are available through Ticket Central using code PS35. Failure to present a valid ID will result in an additional fee. All tickets are subject to availability.

Primary Stages continues its 26th season with the world premiere of a new musical In Transit with book, music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez, James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth with direction and musical staging by Joe Calarco (September 21 - October 30, 2010) and concludes with the world premiere of a new comedy, Black Tie, by A.R. Gurney directed by Mark Lamos (January 25 - March 5, 2011).

3-play subscription packages are available by calling Ticket Central at (212) 279-4200 or online at www.TicketCentral.com. For additional information about Primary Stages, please visit the website at www.primarystages.org.
