Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) will present eight new musical shorts by some of NYC's most exciting emerging musical theater writers, the result of work created in the company's 6th annual musical theater lab.
From a crisp black and white, to a sepia daguerreotype, to the rich shades of a classic canvas, every portrait tells a story. Join Prospect for this evening of eight short original musicals inspired by incredible images and created by the eighteen writers in this year's musical theater lab. The eight participating writing teams were selected through a competitive open application process on November. In December, each team was assigned a portrait, which was used as the inspiration to create a brief musical. These short new works were workshopped during January and will be performed from February 22nd through March 1st, 2013.
Performances will be held at the West End Theatre in the Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew (263 West 86th St.). Tickets ($18) may be purchased by calling 212-352-3101 or by visiting www.ProspectTheater.org. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door, beginning one hour prior to curtain.
