RUINED, the Pulitzer Prize winning play currently playing at Manhattan Theatre Club at New York City Center (131 West 55th Street), will be featured on this weekend's edition of "Studio 360" the nationally syndicated performance and interview radio program.
"Studio 360" airs in the tri-state area on WNYC Saturday, May 16 at 10 AM with an additional re-airing Sunday, May 17 at 7 PM. If outside the tri-state area, check local listings or visit www.Studio360.org
The segment, hosted by Kurt Andersen and produced by Jenny Lawton, will feature an interview with playwright Lynn Nottage.
In addition, the segment will feature an exclusive performance of a song from RUINED. The song, featuring music by Dominic Kanza and lyrics by Nottage, will be sung by Condola Rashad with accompaniment by Kanza (percussion) and cast member Simon Shabantu Kashama (guitar).
The segment will also feature cast member Quincy Tyler Bernstine performing a portion of a monologue from the play.
RUINED is the most acclaimed new play of 2009, having received the 2009 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the Best Play award from the New York Drama Critics Circle, the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play, the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Play, five Drama Desk Award nominations including Outstanding New Play, and two Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Play.
