Rob Sedgwick Joins PERFECT CRIME as 'Lionel McAuley' Through October 20

Rob Sedgwick, accomplished New York actor, will join the cast of Warren Manzi's Perfect Crime, the longest running play in the history of New York theater, as Lionel McAuley, the deranged patient of physiatrist Margaret Brent. Sedgwick will perform a special limited run beginning Oct. 15 and running through Oct. 20.

Sedgwick has stepped into the role of Lionel McAuley in the past and continually comes back to perform in Perfect Crime. Sedgwick maintains a close friendship with the Snapple Theater Center and actress Catherine Russell, the play's leading lady. The two even teach an acting class together - The Sedgwick Russell Classes – at the center.

Sedgwick's theater credits include The Devils Disciple and Major Barbara (Irish Repertory Theater), Bliss & Vick's Boy (The Rattlestick), Death of a Salesman (Paper Mill Playhouse), The Glass Menagerie (Asolo Theater), Enemies (Williamstown Theatre Festival) The Cherry Orchard (Guild Hall), Missing Footage (Old Globe), Mistress and Death of the Maden (Ensemble Studio Theatre) and Sundance EST. Film credits include Die Hard 3, Tune in Tomorrow, Tales From The Darkside, Staying Together and Loverboy (directed by Kevin Bacon). Sedgwick has also been seen in guest roles on Law & Order, Law & Order C.I., Law & Order S.V.U., Ed, Deadline, 30 Rock, Another World and One Life To Live.

In addition to his numerous credits as a stage and screen actor, Sedgwick recently penned a memoir "Bob Goes to Jail". A segment of the book was published on Oct. 5 in the Lives section of The New York Times. "Bob Goes to Jail" is currently available as an e-book and can be purchased on Amazon.com. Sedgwick is brother to actress Kyra Sedgwick and brother-in-law to actor Kevin Bacon. Synopsis: A secluded mansion. A would-be murderess. The perfect crime. Margaret Brent is an accomplished Connecticut psychiatrist-and potential cold-blooded killer. When her wealthy husband turns up dead, she gets caught in the middle of a terrifying game of cat and mouse with a deranged patient and the handsome but duplicitous investigator assigned to the case.

Perfect Crime has played over 9,000 performances since opening on April 18, 1987. Perfect Crime recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. It has been featured in every major New York publication as well as in People magazine and on Entertainment Tonight and The Today Show.

Written by Warren Manzi and directed by Jeffrey Hyatt, the cast of Perfect Crime also includes Catherine Russell, who has starred in the show since its first performance, played all but four of its performances and has been inducted into The Guinness Book of World Records for this feat; John Hillner (Broadway's La Cage Aux Folles, Footloose, Mama Mia); and Richard Shoberg (24 years as Tom Cudahy on ABC's All My Children).

Perfect Crime plays at the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th Street at Broadway. The box office phone number is (212) 921-7862. For more information, visit www.SnappleTheater.com.

The performance schedule is as follows: Mondays at 8PM, Tuesdays at 8PM, Wednesdays at 2PM, Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2PM & 8PM and Sundays at 3PM & 7:30PM.
