THE COLUMBINE PROJECT OPENS 7/27 At New York's Actor's Temple Theatre

On April 20th 1999, the world watched as two young men presumed to be outcasts walked into their high-school, and attempted to massacre hundreds of their peers. Although failing in their original mission to kill 250 students, the two teens left twelve students and a teacher fatally wounded, and many others scarred for life.

"The Columbine Project" examines exactly what went through the minds of several students including the killers, who at one time, were just normal kids. We follow as the plan is kept secret and as the soon-to-be victims prepare for a future they would never see.

"The Columbine Project" also examines such sociological issues as racism and homophobia in high schools, issues which were often ignored in the educational system.

Filled with monologues straight from journals, and information shared personally with the writer by survivors of the incident, this true story will provide insight to who these children were, and perhaps who may have also had a hand in cultivating the rampage that resulted in bloodshed and destruction.

The Columbine Project premiered in Los Angeles in April of this year.  After its initial run saw sold out houses every night, the production was extended twice and received nothing but favorable reviews from Los Angeles theatre critics.  Upon being invited to bring The Columbine Project to Actors Temple Theatre, the entire original cast committed to making the cross country trip to bring a very important story to a whole new audience.

Starring: Artie Ahr, Justin Mortelliti, Bradley Michael, and Rya Meyers

Supporting Cast: Stacy Allen, Will Barker, Alex Bica, Kelli Joan Bennett,  Evan Enslow,  Jesse Kove, Kelly McCracken,  Derek Meeker, Bree Pavey, Morgan Roberts, Sara Swain, Stephanie Weyant, and Marquerite Wiseman.

Paul has produced several shows in Los Angeles, mostly using the work of New York writers, such as Jeff Blumenkrantz’s “Woman with Pocketbook”,  Gila Sand and Paul Leschen’s Drama Desk Award nominated “Twist” in addition to several other NewYork originals, like “The Ransom of Red Chief, The Musical”, and “The Life and Times of Joe Jefferson Benjamin Blow”.  For “Woman with Pocketbook”, Paul’s production won an Artistic Director’s Achievement award for Best Production along with several nominations for “Twist” like Best Director of a Musical, and Best Production of a Musical. Paul’s sole creation “One Night Stands…The Sex Comedies,” for which he won an ADA award for Best Director of a Comedy, is now in its third continuous year of perfornance. “The Columbine Project” has been his most courageous feat yet, and he is excited to work with New York Artists in the next phase of the run.

Bree Pavey (Producer) - Pavey also hails from Chicago. Although having some of the same friends there, Pavey and Storiale never met until Los Angeles. Pavey holds degrees in Philosophy and Sociology from Eastern Illinois University.  She is also a graduate of The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree.  Most importantly, she is a graduate of The Second City in Chicago.  Since moving to L.A., she has appeared as a Guest Star on Cold Case (CBS) and as a recurring character, Officer Annie Michaels, on Days of Our Lives (NBC).  She has also appeared in two national commercial campaigns for Overstock.com and Gerber Graduates and was the on camera host for the first season of "Feng Shui Living" on DishTV's Veria Network.  Bree is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association (AEA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).
