The Barrow Group Theatre Company Presents An Encore Performance Of THE TRICKY PART

The Barrow Group Theatre Company, the Drama Desk award-winning company that developed this season's Broadway blockbuster A Steady Rain, and last season's Off-Broadway hit The Temperamentals, announces a one-night-only encore performance of Martin Moran's award-winning The Tricky Part, as a benefit for The Barrow Group's new play development programming.

A true story of sexuality, spirituality and the mystery of human experience, The Tricky Part is one of the most heralded one-man plays in recent memory. Between the ages of 12 and 15, the author had a sexual relationship with an older man. Now 42 and an established New York actor, he has transformed his story of finding and confronting the man into a riveting, often funny and always surprising journey through the complexities of Catholicism, desire and human trespass. The New York premiere received a 2004 Obie award and two Drama Desk nominations including Outstanding Play.

One-Night-Only Performance on Tuesday, February 9th at 8pm.

Tickets are $25 and available at www.smarttix.com or by calling 212-868-4444.

The Tricky Part was first presented in a workshop at The Barrow Group (Seth Barrish & Lee Brock, Artistic Directors). It was subsequently produced by James B. Freydberg, CTM Productions, Wendy vanden Heuval, Sharon Rosen in association with True Love Productions at The McGinn Cazale Theater in New York City, opening on April 12, 2004. It was directed by Seth Barrish; Set design by Paul Steinberg; the lighting design was by Heather Carson.

Martin Moran was awarded a 2004 OBIE and two Drama Desk Nominations for his one-man play, The Tricky Part, based upon his memoir of the same title. Broadway performances include: Spamalot, Cabaret, Titanic, Bells Are Ringing, Big River, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, A Christmas Carol, Oliver! National Tour: Doonesbury. Off-Broadway: A Man Of No Importance, Lincoln Center Theater, The Cider House Rules, Atlantic Theater Company, Floyd Collins Playwrights Horizons.
