John Montgomery Theatre Company (JMTC) is proud to present acclaimed monologist Bob Brader's Spitting In The Face Of The Devil at United Solo Theatre Festival. The show, a recent hit at The London Fringe and The Atlantic Fringe Festivals, was called "brilliant" and "masterful" by multiple critics. It was the Winner of Best Show of The London Fringe 2010 from The Beat, Arts in London Magazine and Winner of Fringe Hit at The Atlantic Fringe in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After a successful summer tour in London, Rhinebeck and Nova Scotia, JMTC is excited to debut the new one-hour version of the show in this world premiere international festival in NYC on Friday, November 12 at 8:30pm. The show is supported by Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey.

In this daring, uplifting and comedic monologue, Bob Brader tells the gripping totally true story of discovering that his charismatic ex-Marine father is a pedophile. Directed and developed by Suzanne Bachner, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil was hailed by New York critics as "brilliant" and "unforgettable." A hit at The London Fringe with audiences and critics alike, The Beat, Arts in London Magazine gave the show two 4/4 star reviews: Mark Killeen called the show "Down to earth masterful storytelling" and Donald D'Haene called it "80-minutes of brilliance". In addition, the show was chosen as "The One" by James Reaney of The London Free Press. During its sold-out run at The Atlantic Fringe, Stephen Cooke of The Chronicle-Herald called it a "Masterful childhood memoir." Lighting Design is by Cory Pattak.

United Solo Theatre Festival presents the world premiere one-hour version of Spitting In The Face Of The Devil for one performance only at Theatre Row, located at 410 West 42nd Street, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues. As part of their ongoing partnership with local child abuse prevention organizations, JMTC is thrilled and honored to once again team up with Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey. Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey is a nonprofit organization working to ?end child abuse. Their mission is to prevent child abuse in all of its forms, for all of New Jersey's children. Prevent Child Abuse New Jersey is the only statewide non-profit dedicated to preventing child abuse in all of its forms, for all of New Jersey's children. The organization was incorporated in 1979 as the New Jersey chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, the 9th Chapter to be established among a national network. United Solo Theatre Festival is an annual international festival for solo performances held in New York City. Spitting In The Face Of The Devil was selected for The New York International Fringe Festival, where it was then picked up for The Garage Theater Group's SoloFest 2010. Bob performed Spitting In The Face Of The Devil in the InaugurAl Woodstock Memoir Festival, which was headlined by the McCourt Brothers - Frank, Alphie and Malachy. The show was the featured theatrical event of the Festival and a crowd favorite, sold-out show and also played to standing room only crowds at The Fletcher Gallery in Woodstock, NY. Originally, Spitting debuted for a three-month extended run in New York City at The Red Room as a co-production with Horse Trade Theater Group.
