The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) announces the return of its hilarious and heartwarming holiday hit 2006 revue, That Time of the Year. This extremely limited engagement will be presented in a style similar to the York's Musicals in Mufti series (in which musical theatre gems are staged by performers with "book-in-hand" and minimal props and costumes) from December 18th through December 20th, 2009. Casting details will be announced shortly.
Just in time for Hanukkah, Christmas and the release of the Original Cast Recording, the show will be playing for One Weekend Only. The two-disc CD (released by JAY records) is currently available for purchase at the York lobby during all performances and on iTunes. The CD will be released in stores on November 10th. Comprised of all-original holiday tunes, That Time of the Year has lyrics by Laurence Holzman and Felicia Needleman and music by eight different composers (Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf).
Performances for the show are as follows: Friday, December 18th at 8 PM, Saturday, December 19th at 2:30 and 8 PM, and Sunday, December 20th at 2:30 and 7:30 PM.
