TITANIC TALES: STORIES OF COURAGE AND COWARDICE, a theater work commissioned by Lincoln Center, will have its world premiere on Thursday, April 12 at 8:30 p.m. the date on which, 100 years ago, the RMS Titanic was mid-voyage on the way to its fateful encounter with the iceberg that led to the ship's tragic loss on the night of April 15, 1912.

The performance, which takes place at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center as part of the Target® Free Thursdays series, follows the survivors of the Titanic's tragic maiden voyage through the highs and lows of that fateful night.

TITANIC TALES is part theater, part concert, part history. Poignant firsthand accounts illustrate how great danger can bring out the best-and sometimes the worst-in people. The remarkable recollections of actual survivors (taken from testimony given at the U.S. Senate Hearings and British Board Inquiry) are evocatively complemented by live music as played by the ship's legendary band. A blend of popular song, light classics and ragtime conjure the atmosphere and elegance of life aboard the ship.

Admission is free. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center is located at Broadway between 62nd and 63rd Streets.
