After closing their doors in March 2020 due to the pandemic, The Wayward Artist will return to live audiences with Jennifer Haley’s The Nether. 

This change in organization leadership follows an announcement last month that Brad Erickson would be leaving the executive director position. Erickson is set to depart at the end of the calendar year after 18 years of service.

Season three at The Wayward Artist continues with a summer musical  event! “Ordinary Days” is directed by Brooke Aston and kicks off the summer with the story of  four New Yorkers searching for fulfillment, happiness, love, and cabs.

Just in time for the holidays, Rubicon Theatre presents the World Premiere of Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with a Twist, a magical new holiday musical which originated and was developed at Rubicon over two seasons in the company's Plays-in-Progress program (under the title Little Miss Scrooge).

Cal State Fullerton's Department of Theatre & Dance kicks off its Spring slate of productions in March when Charlotte Brontë's most famous and beloved literary heroine comes to life in 'Jane Eyre: The Musical.' With a book by John Caird, music and lyrics by Paul Gordon, direction by James R. Taulli, and musical direction by Corey Hirsch, the play runs March 13-29 in the Little Theatre on campus.

Complementing the highly-anticipated performances of Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen on the stage of the War Memorial Opera House (June 12-July 1), San Francisco Opera presents its ongoing Ring Festival of ancillary events and activities. Subscription sales are underway for the Santa Barbara Symphony's 65th anniversary season, which will open October 20 with compelling works by Dohnanyi, Gershwin, and Berlioz. The orchestra will present a total of nine deeply satisfying programs at the Granada Theatre over the course of the season, including three non-subscription concerts. Series packages start at $163.
