Adapted and directed by interdisciplinary theatre artist Gwen Dobie, Theatre @ York's Beggar's Opera (http://finearts.yorku.ca/beggarsopera) previews January 28, opens January 29 and runs to February 1. It unfolds as a play within a play with a decidedly modern vibe, bringing the audience into the action. The show transforms York University's Sandra Faire & Ivan Fecan Theatre into the Lincoln Fields Correctional Institute, where visitors are subjected to 21st century surveillance measures to witness the 'inmates' performing within. On Monday, October 28, 2013, Sing for Hope celebrated its 7th annual gala in New York City in a multi-level Chelsea loft space punctuated by brilliantly colored Sing for Hope Pianos and vivid art photographs. The stars came out on Monday night to toast the 100th birthday of Toronto's historic Elgin and Winter Garden Theatres. Dubbed the 'chandelier gala' the fun filled evening was designed to celebrate the last remaining double decker theatre in the world and to raise money to restore it's gorgeous chandelier. On hand were cast members from the all Canadian company of CATS, Stratford Festival's production of Tommy, as well as many people performing from shows gone by such as Joseph, Ain't Misbehaving, Crazy for You and more. Schwartz's is currently playing through Saturday, May 7. A total of 21 performances will delight montrealers and tourists alike. Schwartz's: The Musical will be presented every day from Wednesday July 20 to Sunday August 7, 2011 at 8PM (except Monday July 25 and Monday August 1). Matinees will be held on Saturdays (July 23, 30 and August 6) at 2PM and on Sunday July 24, 2011 at 2PM.

Centaur Theatre is very excited to announce that Schwartz's: The Musical, the much-awaited musical inspired by Bill Brownstein's popular book, 'Schwartz's Hebrew Delicatessen: The Story,' will close April 24 on our main stage.

Centaur Theatre Company is pleased to announce that seven new performances have been added to the soon-to-be legendary Schwartz's: The Musical. The show will be presented again from Tuesday May 3rd to Saturday May 7th at 8PM, on Wednesday May 4th at 1PM and on Saturday May 7th at 2PM. Schwartz's smoked meat sandwiches will be sold on Wednesday May 4th from 6:30-7.:30 PM in Seagram's Gallery.

In response to the increasing demand for tickets to Schwartz's: The Musical, Centaur Theatre is pleased to announce that seven new performances have been added to the soon-to-be legendary musical about Montreal's famous smoked meat eatery.
