Triple Shadow Brings 2 FROM THE SEA to La MaMa, 10/18-11/4

La MaMa E.T.C. presents the World Premiere of Triple Shadow's new theater production, 2 FROM THE SEA, composed of two solo adaptations of plays whose themes are based on stories of the sea: Holiday Memory by Dylan Thomas, performed by Seamus Maynard, and Riders to the Sea by John Millington Synge, performed by Mari Andrejco. Both are directed by Beth Skinner and feature live music composed and performed by Edward Herbst. Lighting design is by Bessie and Drama Desk-winner Paul Clay (RENT), and scenic design is by Obie Award-winner Jun Maeda. The three-week season runs October 18 through November 4 at La MaMa E.T.C., 74 East 4th Street, NYC.

12th Annual Coney Island Film Festival Announces Lineup

The 12th annual installment of the Coney Island Film Festival (named one of the '25 Coolest Film Festivals' by MovieMaker Magazine) hits the shores of Coney Island from Friday, September 21st through Sunday, September 23rd. This year's festival features 74 films from around the world; a stunning array of high and low-brow fare, as diverse as the neighborhood it represents. Subjects range from the profound to the profane, showcasing the independent spirit and irreverent nature of the one and only Coney Island.

BREAKING BAD, SMALL TOWN SECURITY et al. Among AMC Summer Series Premieres

AMC announced today its summer programming slate, including the highly anticipated premiere of the first part of 'Breaking Bad's' final season on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm ET/PT. The final season of the Emmy(R) Award-winning and critically acclaimed drama, produced by Sony Pictures Television, consists of 16 episodes, with the first eight episodes beginning July 15 and culminating with the series' final eight episodes next summer 2013. Also this summer, the network debuts its newest unscripted series, 'Small Town Security,' on Sunday, July 15 at 11pm ET/PT and season two of the epic western 'Hell on Wheels' Sunday, August 12 at 9pm ET/PT.Over four seasons, 'Breaking Bad' has garnered a total of six Emmys(R) wins; a Peabody Award; it has been named to the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the 'Top 10 Programs of the Year' (2008, 2010, 2011); and been heralded as one of the best TV dramas on television. Filmed on location in Albuquerque, NM, the series stars 2008, 2009 and 2010's Emmy(R) Award winner for Outstanding Lead Actor Bryan Cranston; 2010 Emmy(R) winner for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series Aaron Paul; Anna Gunn; Dean Norris; Betsy Brandt; RJ Mitte; Bob Odenkirk; and Jonathan Banks. 'Hell on Wheels' Reigns as AMC's Second Highest Rated Original Series

AMC's season finale of 'Hell on Wheels,' which premiered on Sunday, January 15th at 10 pm EST, delivered a 2.2 HH rating and attracted 2.8 million viewers. The premiere and encore combined delivered 3.8 million viewers (10 pm EST premiere and 11 pm EST encore). Season one averaged 3 million viewers and attracted 1.3 million adults 18-49 and 1.4 million adults 25-54. 'Hell on Wheels' finishes as the second highest rated series on AMC following the success of 'The Walking Dead.' AMC greenlit a second season of 'Hell on Wheels' in December.

Grant James Varjas's new play ACCIDENTALLY, LIKE A MARTYR will be presented at The Wild Project June 23 through June 26. ACCIDENTALLY, LIKE A MARTYR takes place in a gay bar on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where a group of men from different backgrounds and generations talk, joke and drink their way through a slow and lonely winter evening. Old secrets are revealed and old wounds re-opened in a serio-comic play inspired and influenced by Mart Crowley's 'The Boys in the Band' and Tennessee Williams's 'Small Craft Warnings.'
